Lorraine is a zoologist and children’s book author, living in Perth, Western Australia with her family of four.
Growing up in rural England, Lorraine loves nothing more than to be immersed in nature and is passionate about teaching kids to respect and protect our natural world through the books she writes. As a zookeeper and wildlife conservationist she creates scientifically accurate and educational children’s picture books that foster a love for all things wild!
Lorraine has worked with wildlife all over the world and has collaborated with a range of charities and conservation organisations who benefit from the sales of several of Lorraine children’s books. You can find out more about these partnerships here.
Her debut picture book ‘The Zookeepers’ Quest – The Koala and the Bushfire’ (published in 2021) received a five-star readers favourite review and a purple dragonfly award. Further books in The Zookeepers’ Quest series are now being published by Dixi Books.
Lorraine has written both fiction and non-fiction books, in both rhyme and prose and is a hybrid author, utilising both traditional and self-publishing models.
